Tottenham Hotspur star Giovani Lo Celso has started to settle in at Spurs.

The Argentine maestro struggled in the beginning but appears to now be getting more minutes to show what he can do.

The 23-year-old was on target last night against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third-round replay, which was his second goal for the club.

His fine performance against Boro came days after another strong showing against Liverpool, with Mourinho describing him as ‘so, so good’ in both games (Hackney Gazette).

There was an interesting piece from the summer signing in the pre-match programme, in which he admits he might actually have joined another Premier League club as a kid.

He said (football.london): “During my time with Rosario, there was interest from England, Everton were interested, but I was very young and my dream, and that of my family, was for me to begin my career in the first-team of Rosario Central, because it was my boyhood club.

“After that, of course, I considered the possibility of playing in Europe. I feel lucky that I have been able to fulfill my first dream of playing for Rosario.”

Lo Celso joined Rosario in 2010 and climbed his way up the youth ranks before making his first-team debut for the club in 2015.

Fours years later, he would come to England with Spurs after stints with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Betis.

TBR’s view – Everton could do with Lo Celso now

The majority of Everton fans would surely love to have Lo Celso in their side right about now.

He hasn’t set the world alight in the Premier League yet, but his abilities were there for all to see with Betis last term.

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s form as been rotten in 2019/20 and many Toffees supporters have seemingly lost patience with the Iceland international.
