Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a possible transfer swoop for Atletico Madrid star Thomas Lemar.
According to a report from The Independent, Spurs are considering making a loan approach for the Frenchman, with an option-to-buy for around £51 million.
Lemar is out of favour at the Wanda Metropolitano, and has not enjoyed a good stint at the club following his move in the summer of 2018.

He currently finds himself behind the likes of Angel Correa and Koke in the pecking order, and manager Diego Simeone recently admitted he has struggled to develop his game (Daily Mail).
Spurs may offer him an escape route this month, but apparently face competition from rivals Arsenal.
Should the Lilywhites actually pull off an unlikely deal for Lemar, then it could have negative consequences for one Spurs player.
TBR’s view – Lemar arrival, Lucas demotion?
Any move for Lemar by Tottenham could spell trouble for winger Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian appears to have experienced a new lease of life under Jose Mourinho in terms of starting games.
He was somewhat unfancied by Mauricio Pochettino despite his effectiveness and popularity with the fans, but under the Portuguese he has started all but two matches.
Lemar coming in could potentially set the Brazilian – who cost £23 million in January 2018 (BBC Sport) – back to square one in terms of not being considered to start games and having to make do with mere cameos.
