Tottenham reportedly have an interest in signing Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans, who has dazzled on loan at Leicester City in the second half of this season.
According to the Daily Star, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to land the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.
It is understood the Foxes want to try wrap up a £40million swoop, but the Belgium international is already being eyed by other clubs and Spurs are mentioned as one.
Tielemans really has taken to the Premier League with great ease and it’s understandable that he would demand a hefty price tag.
The youngster is an exciting central midfielder that is assured in possession and has brilliant vision on a football pitch.
He’s scored two goals and supplied four assists in nine Leicester appearances so far, with his presence massively improving the team’s performances at the King Power Stadium.
Tielemans has so much potential to light up the Premier League for years to come and Spurs should step up interest by rivalling Leicester for his signature.
The Belgian playmaker is definitely good enough to play at the elite level and Mauricio Pochettino’s side could do with an extra option in midfield.
He impressed against Spurs when he faced them in the Premier League and the North London club should be impressed by what they have seen from him in England.
