Tottenham should scout van de Beek against Germany tonight

It is no secret that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to bolster their options in central midfield.

Harry Winks has emerged on the first-team scene and he is impressing but Mauricio Pochettino needs more options.

Eric Dier’s form has been erratic, Mousa Dembele has suffered an injury and Victor Wanyama has also had niggles.

As Spurs scour the market for a solution in central midfield, their long-term answer could be in action tonight.

Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek is in contention to start for Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League clash with Germany.

This would be a good chance for Spurs to send scouts to run the rule over the 21-year-old.

Despite his young age, he is closing in on 100 senior appearances for Ajax’s first-team, having come through the ranks and represented their reserve side.

van de Beek is a promising young talent and he can pull the strings in midfield with his ability on the ball.

The youngster is regarded as a playmaker in Holland and he could be the midfield man that Tottenham have been searching for.
