Tottenham should renew interest in Barcelona’s £34.5million-rated attacker Malcom

Tottenham are in a promising spot right now given their switch to a new stadium, while they are in the Champions League semi-finals and on course for another top four finish this season.

Mauricio Pochettino has done wonders with the North London club and he should receive some funds to strengthen his squad in the summer.

Spurs need some fresh faces to continue their development and a third successive transfer window without any signings would be bizarre.

Barcelona attacker Malcom is a former target that has cropped up on the Spurs radar in the past.

The Evening Standard reported in January that Spurs discussed the possibility of renewing interest in the Brazilian.

It is understood that the 22-year-old held talks with Spurs when he was still at Marseille, but he ended up moving to Barcelona last summer.

Pochettino’s side should consider returning for the speed machine in the summer considering the latest update on his future.

According to ESPN, Malcom wants to exit Barcelona at the end of the season and the La Liga giants are willing to offload him if they recoup the £34.5miloion they paid for him.

The winger has struggled to make the desired impact at the Camp Nou, with just four goals in 19 appearances across all competitions.

Spurs shouldn’t be put off by his difficult year in Spain, as he’s not had too many opportunities and is still a major talent.

He is a skilful wide player that dazzled for Bordeaux in the last campaign and is the type of attacker that could inject some extra quality to Pochettino’s squad.
