Fernando Llorente has done a decent job as Harry Kane’s understudy at Tottenham, but in truth they could do with another striker applying some pressure next season.

Spurs were keen on Espanyol centre-forward Borja Iglesias last November (El Gol Digital) after his impressive start in La Liga this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side should reignite interest in the Spaniard in the summer, as he’s scored 14 times in 33 games across all competitions this campaign.

According to El Desmarque, Everton and Valencia are both interested in the 26-year-old ahead of the summer.

The report further details that the striker has a £24million release clause at La Liga club Espanyol.

Spurs should definitely consider moving for their former target Iglesias in the summer, as he could be a great alternative option to their talisman Kane.

Spurs boss Pochettino, who used to manage Espanyol, should raid his former club for someone that could add another dimension to the attack.

Iglesias is a powerful striker that would offer a physical presence and his quality in the air has been shown this season with some headed goals.

His £24million release clause certainly would be value for money if he can score 15-plus goals as Kane’s understudy in a Spurs shirt.

The North London club now have a huge fixture demand due to the fact they are starting to compete in every competition, which is why it’s vital they have at least two quality options in each position on the pitch.
