Tottenham should pursue Jack Grealish over Dennis Man in January playmaker chase

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to fight with Manchester United for the signature of Dennis Man of FCSB, according to the Sun.

The 20-year-old playmaker is catching the eye with his performances in Romania and has seven goals in 22 outings so far this season.

It is not quite clear what exact valuation FCSB would put on Man, but a bid of £2.5m from Fenerbahce was apparently rejected out of hand.

Last week, Mauricio Pochettino was quoted as saying that he needs to clear space in his squad before he could sign anyone, but the latest developments surrounding Man suggest that may have changed.

But if Pochettino can find space in his squad, then summer target Jack Grealish would be a better option than Man.

Grealish played deeper last season at Villa but being shunted back up to number 10 under Dean Smith has done him the power of good and he is now producing the kind of consistency that he needs to make an impact in the Premier League.

He is a key part of Villa’s promotion push and has the star quality that Pochettino was able to harness in Dele Alli when he jumped up two leagues back in the 2015/16 campaign.
