Tottenham were keen on a late January move for Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans in January (Telegraph), but he ended up joining Leicester City on loan for the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old has settled brilliantly to English football with some impressive displays for Leicester so far and looks a creative playmaker for them.
According to the Telegraph, Brendan Rodgers’ side will have to fork out £40million to bring him to the King Power Stadium on a permanent basis and they are considering their next move .
But Spurs should re-enter the hunt for the Belgian maestro and swoop in for him in the summer.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino should plead with chairman Daniel Levy to sanction a big money move for Tielemans that would fall just short of the club-record fee of £42million spent on Davinson Sanchez (Guardian).

Tielemans fits the profile perfectly for Spurs to consider splashing their cash on, as he’s a young player that Pochettino could help develop and would add some extra quality in the centre of the park.
He’s an all-action central midfielder that is extremely intelligent in possession and also has the vision to unlock defences.
The Belgium international also proved with Anderlecht and Monaco that he’s got an eye for goal, which is why he’s an excellent prospect that has been dubbed a wonderkid in years gone by.
Spurs do need another quality option in midfield following Mousa Dembele’s exit and Tielemans would be perfect if Levy has the funds for him.
