Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly set to leave Juventus and Tottenham could do far worse than make a move to reunite the forward with their manager, Jose Mourinho.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Higuain is set to move away from Turin this summer. The move would bring an end to his spell with Juventus, where he has never quite got the levels he showed for Napoli during his 38 goal season during the 15/16 campaign.

The 32-year-old, though, is still considered one of the games better goal-getters. He’s played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, and now, Juventus.
And it’s that link with Madrid that could well tempt Tottenham into making their move. That is, because Higuain worked under current boss Jose Mourinho at in Spain.
Mourinho, too, is a big fan of the striker and has gone on record in the past as praising Higuain’s ability to get a goal from nowhere. (Metro)
With Spurs being overly reliant on Harry Kane, surely a move for Higuain could prove a fruitful one for all involved?
Hard to sit behind Kane but at 32, Higuain might accept a reduced role
There always comes a time for strikers when they have to accept that they might not always be the main man at a club anymore.
It could well be, then, that that is how Higuain feels if he does indeed leave Juventus. He had a crack at the Premier League with Chelsea previously but it didn’t go brilliantly for him.

He may well feel that he has something to prove in England and, working with a boss in Mourinho he knows well, Spurs could be the ideal club for him to find his feet in the Premier League.
Still a capable finisher and still not old enough to be considered ‘past it’, Higuain could prove a shrewd addition for Spurs next year.
