Tottenham should make enquiry over Rodrigo with Llorente interesting Valencia

Valencia are keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente this month.

El Desmarque claim the Spanish club want some added firepower in January, with the Spurs hitman supposedly on their shortlist.

Llorente is very much on the fringes at Spurs and has been ever since he joined the club in the summer of 2017.

His haul of 15 Premier League goals for Swansea City prompted the north Londoners to bring him in, and he was being billed as an astute piece of business by Mauricio Pochettino.

But the veteran hasn’t seen much pitch time, playing second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Llorente rarely ever starts games, even during busy periods for the club, and recently Pochettino has snubbed him in favour of Heung-min Son or Lucas Moura.

Tottenham should enquire over Rodrigo

Spurs are supposedly operating on a sell to buy policy this window, but the club should consider asking for a player in return with Valencia keen on Llorente.

One man they should make an enquiry over is Spanish striker Rodrigo.

Rodrigo, who has scored 39 goals in 156 appearances for Valencia, has been linked with Tottenham before – only last summer to be precise (Calciomercato) – and Pochettino should consider reigniting that interest.

Getting Llorente off the books seems to be a priority, but that would leave Spurs slightly short.

Rodrigo would be a good signing, as he is much more versatile than his compatriot. He can play up top or out wide. He is also quite creative, as evidenced by his tally of 24 assists

Having only scored twice in La Liga this season, it seems as though a change of environment from struggling Valencia could do him good.
