Tottenham should consider a swoop for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, as he would provide an excellent option for them and is currently struggling for game-time at Old Trafford.

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho would be willing to offload the 24-year-old and wants to sign a new centre-back in January.

Bailly has become an outcast under Mourinho by making just seven appearances across all competitions this season and hasn’t featured in the match day squad for the last three Premier League fixtures.

But that shouldn’t deter Spurs and he could become a world beater under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.

Bailly is a highly-rated defender that made a positive start to life in English football when he joined in 2016, but has struggled in recent months to show his qualities.

The Ivory Coast international has excellent pace and power, which makes him an ideal fit for the Premier League.

His decision making may be the one grey area hanging over his game right now, but Spurs boss Pochettino is the perfect man to help iron out any mistakes and take him to the next level.

Bailly has the potential to be one of the top centre-backs in the division and a switch to Spurs could be the making of him.
