Tottenham should check on in-form Dolberg in UEFA Nations League clash

Denmark’s clash with the Republic of Ireland tonight is essentially a dead rubber.

Republic of Ireland have already been relegated in the UEFA Nations League and Denmark have already won promotion.

But Tottenham Hotspur should still send scouts to the game to check up on Danish striker Kasper Dolberg.

The 21-year-old is back in form after a relatively quiet campaign in 2017/18.

Playing up front for Ajax, Dolberg is back to his best in front of goal, netting five times in just five starts in the Eredivisie.

The young striker has previously been regarded as one of the best prospects in European football and Spurs could do with his talents.

Harry Kane is the undisputed first-choice striker in North London but his back-up options have been weak over the past few seasons.

With veteran Spaniard Fernando Llorente coming towards the end of his career, could Spurs upgrade on him by bringing in Dolberg?

At 6ft 2in tall, Dolberg is in the same mould as Llorente but he is much younger and has the potential to become a top player at Premier League level.

Dolberg only scored six league goals last term but scored 16 in 29 the year before that. The 10-cap Denmark international will be hoping to add to his one senior goal tonight.

And Spurs should send scouts to run the rule over him ahead of a potential January swoop.
