Tottenham should ask Monaco for Tielemans as part of Dembele deal

According to reports in France, Tottenham Hotspur’s Mousa Dembele could be on his way to Ligue 1.

French media outlet Le 10 Sport reports that Monaco want to sign Dembele from Spurs.

Former Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is in charge of Monaco and he wants to reunite with Dembele, who he worked with during this summer’s World Cup as Belgium coach.

Tottenham seem to have accepted that Dembele will leave in the near future.

The 31-year-old is entering the final years of his career and it is better that they cash in now, while he is still wanted by major clubs.

But if Tottenham commence negotiations with Monaco, they should ask for Youri Tielemans in return.

The 21-year-old has been in excellent form for Monaco this season and is starting to fulfil the promise he showed at an early age as an Anderlecht player.

Tielemans is a playmaker in the middle of the park and he could be the long-term answer for Spurs in midfield.

In 16 Ligue 1 games this season, Tielemans has scored four goals and his all-round play has been impressive for such a young player.

The 14-cap Belgium international has completed 570 passes and 16 key passes from midfield, as per Who Scored.

Dembele could be used as a makeweight to bring in his international team-mate Tielemans from Monaco.
