Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Shayon Harrison has told Planet Football that a bad miss during his debut against Liverpool cost him the chance of more first-team opportunities.
The 22-year-old signed for Dutch outfit Almere City in the summer of 2019 having been released from his Tottenham contract.
He cites a League Cup game in 2016 as the moment that pretty much scuppered his chances of making an impact.

Harrison replaced Georges-Kevin Nkoudou for his debut against Liverpool and an Erik Lamela cross had caught the defence off guard with Harrison in acres of space.
The ball, however, dropped onto his chest and ran into the path of Simon Mignolet who gathered comfortably.
Harrison never appeared for Tottenham again and he believes it ruined his chances of emulating the likes of Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho.
He told Planet Football: “As the ball rolled into the goalkeeper’s hands, it hit me just how much of an opportunity that chance had been.
“I don’t regret it but it’s something I will not forget for a long, long time.
“I do believe that had I scored, I would have had more chance in the first team at Tottenham. You look at the players who made an impact on their debuts, such as Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.
“The sky is the limit for those boys. But I try not to dwell on it too much as I am now taking a different pathway.”
Harrison is now busy rebuilding his career in the Dutch second division and his time over there has started well.
Progression
During his maiden campaign, he has scored seven goals in 21 appearances and is showing some real talent.

Harrison would love to earn another crack at English football and must now take a different route to the big time.
The youngster has shown his versatility to play as a No.10 this season and that could serve him well in the future.
All Harrison can do now is continue learning and getting better with each passing season.
If he does that there is no reason why he can’t make a career for himself in England, even if that isn’t with Tottenham.
