Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his ranks.
Postecoglou laid some solid foundations in his maiden season at Spurs and he’ll be eager to build on them by bringing in more players.
Over the past few years, the Italian market has been fruitful for Tottenham, and now Spurs are said to be looking at another talent from the peninsula.
According to Secolo XIX – via Calciomercato – Tottenham are one of several clubs eyeing Padova defender Giovanni Leoni.

As well as Spurs, Juventus and Torino are in pursuit of the 17-year-old centre-back, who is expected to join Sampdoria soon.
Earlier this year, Leoni joined the Serie A side on loan from Padova with a €1.5million (£1.3million) option to buy, which is expected to be taken up.
Sampdoria sporting director Andrea Mancini is reportedly looking to cash in on Leoni after taking up the option to sign him permanently.
The Italian second-tier club is apparently looking to reinvest funds raised by selling Leoni to bolster their ranks and mount a promotion challenge next term.
Who is Tottenham target Giovanni Leoni?
Although Leoni isn’t likely to go into the Tottenham squad any time soon, he looks like a top talent with a bright future in the game.
As per Calciomercato, the 6ft 4in gem is a “modern, structured, patient, disciplined, educated, determined centre-back, capable of both defending and setting up the game.”
The Italian outlet also says Leoni is – an Italy Under-18 international – inspired by Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk and Roma ace Chris Smalling,
In addition, “his dream is to play in the Premier League, of whom he watches all the matches in his free time, or of Roma, of which he is a fan”.
Sampdoria boss Andrea Pirlo rates Leoni highly, previously telling Clubdoria46 that he doesn’t care about the player being 17 years old with regards to starting regularly for the club.
It would be good to see Leoni achieve his dream of joining a Premier League club and begin making a name for himself at Tottenham.
