Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen is being linked with a move to Manchester United.

Apparently the Danish playmaker is considering a switch to Old Trafford, with Real Madrid seemingly more keen to sign Paul Pogba.

The Mirror have boldly claimed that Eriksen actually packed his things before the Champions League final in anticipation for a transfer to the Bernabeu.

He recently gave an interview to Danish magazine Ekstrabladet in which he spoke about undertaking a new challenge.

With Real appearing to be out of the race United may fancy their chances, but Daniel Levy simply cannot let that happen.

TBR’s view

United have financial clout and could well offer a tasty transfer fee for Eriksen, but Levy has to consider that United are direct rivals to Tottenham in the Premier League.

The Red Devils signing Eriksen, in theory, would elevate their quality and dimish Spurs’, bringing the sides closer together.

It is a move that would have the potential to see the clubs swap positions in the Premier League table.

Tottenham could end up losing their Champions League status to United – that is how good a player prime Eriksen is.

If Spurs want to sell, they need to strike a deal with a foreign club so their top four hopes don’t come under threat.
