Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon has told the club that he won’t sign a new contract and has his heart set on a move to Tottenham, according to The Guardian.
The England Under-21 international will see his contract at Craven Cottage expire next summer and the Cottagers’ hopes of keeping their prized asset now look to be slim.
Spurs are not willing to pay any more than £25 million for the 19-year-old, according to the report. Although the Cottagers value their player at £45 million they could be forced to accept less.
Following Fulham’s relegation, they could lose a whole host of stars, but the departure of Sessegnon would probably hurt them the most.
Despite his tender years, he has already played over 100 times for the first-team, helping them to promotion to the top-flight in 2017/18.
After this news, it seems certain that he will now depart. It would be foolish of the Cottagers to even consider risk losing Sessegnon for free next summer, with Spurs potentially ready to offer £25 million now.
This latest development has got the Spurs fans excited on social media. Several of their supporters have taken to Twitter to rave about the potential of the player they could be about to sign.
