According to reports coming from Portugal over the past day, it has been reported that Tottenham have submitted a second formal offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva to tempt him away.

It is understood by A Bola that Spurs have upped their interest in the 28-year-old midfielder, offering a second bid of £26 million for Silva, now he has returned home from the 2017 Confederations Cup.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino’s first bid of around £17.5 million – plus add-ons – was rejected without consideration by Sporting, coming nowhere near close enough to their £30.7 million valuation of him.

And now the North London outfit have reportedly returned with a second – more realistic – bid, offering £26 million with an additional £4.4 million in add-ons as the look to bring him over to England.

Meanwhile, The Sun has reported that Bournemouth striker Joshua King is unsure on a potential move to White Hart Lane as he doesn’t want to be playing second fiddle to current man Harry Kane next season.

It was alleged by The Sun last month that Spurs had shown interest in bringing the prolific Norwegian forward to London to boost their chances both on a domestic front and in the Champions League.

But the 25-year-old believes that, after an outstanding season on the South Coast, he should be playing more regular football than simply being a back-up to Kane and it’s put him off of a switch.

King enjoyed the best season of his career to date last year, scoring 16 Premier League goals in 36 appearances including a late-season run of 10 in 12 matches, and caught the eye of a lot of teams.

Finally, Borussia Dortmund and Germany defender Matthias Ginter has snubbed interest from Tottenham to sign for fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach ahead of the new season.

The Independent had reported last month that Mauricio Pochettino was keeping a firm eye on the young right-back’s situation as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker, but they have now missed out on their man.

ESPN report that the 23-year-old will join up with Monchengladbach on a four-year deal, with the switch costing around 17 million euros plus add-ons.

Ginter has just returned from helping Germany win the Confederations Cup for the first time in their history, beating Chile 1-0 in the final on Sunday night.
