According to reports surfacing from the Mirror late on Thursday evening, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is currently tracking the situation of young Genoa forward Giovanni Simeone.

The 22-year-old, who is in fact the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, has been impressing in Serie A, scoring 12 goals in his first season at Genoa as they finished in mid-table.

And fresh reports allege that Pochettino is now considering whether to swoop for the talented youngster or not as he looks to add a potential world-class back-up forward into his Spurs squad.

It is thought that Spurs may need to swoop in quickly should they want to seal a deal for Simeone though, with the report claiming that Crystal Palace, Torino and Fiorentina all keeping an eye on him.

Meanwhile, Moussa Sissoko’s miserable time at White Hart Lane could be over for now as the Chronicle claim that the 27-year-old is currently in talks with Trabzonspor over a loan move.

The French international only moved to Tottenham last summer from Newcastle – becoming Pochettino’s most expensive buy at £30 million – but he has struggled to feature in the past year.

It now seems that the wheels are set in motion ahead of a move to Turkey, and a Trabzonspor side that finished sixth in the Super Lig last season, with their president already confirming their interest.

Muharrem Usta is quoted by the Chronicle as saying:

“We are in talks with Moussa Sissoko. He is a very important player, Tottenham paid £35 million for him. He didn’t live up to expectations last season but this can happen in football.

“We want to loan him and get his career back on track. Obviously Tottenham do not want to give up on a player they paid that kind of money for but we will see.”

Sissoko only managed eight Premier League starts last season despite arriving in north London on the back of an impressive European Championship with France, failing to score in 25 appearances.

With one midfielder seemingly set to leave this summer, one already has as it was announced on Tottenham’s official website that young Josh Onomah has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old is a product of the youth academy at White Hart Lane and is highly-regarded by manager Pochettino, and he has signed a new contract with the club to keep him there until 2021.

Onomah will spend the next season out on-loan at Championship side Aston Villa with the main intention of receiving first-team exposure after featuring just five times in the top-flight last year.

Despite his lack of Premier League football he has still made 32 appearances in all competitions in the past two years, scoring his first professional goal against Gillingham in the EFL Cup in September.
