According to reports coming from the Mirror early this morning, Tottenham have allegedly been keeping one eye on AC Milan midfielder Suso ahead of a potential summer switch to North London.
It is understood that manager Mauricio Pochettino is looking for more creativity in his current midfield – despite already having the likes of Chrisitan Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son in their ranks – and the ex-Liverpool man has been identified as the person to do this.
The 23-year-old still has two years left on his current contract in Italy but it is believed that he has left his options open, not yet tying down his long-term future to the club despite AC Milan’s efforts.
Fellow Serie A sides Inter Milan and Roma are said to be interested in Suso too but Milan are hesitant to sell to direct rivals – leaving the door wide open for Tottenham to make their move.
The Mirror have also claimed that Spurs are beginning to close in on a deal for want-away Everton and England midfielder Ross Barkley.
Barkley’s future looks set to be away from Goodison Park after ignoring boss Ronald Koeman’s ultimatum in May of ‘sign a new contract or find a new club’, and Tottenham look like his best bet.
But it is thought that Everton’s £25million valuation of the 23-year-old is still deemed excessive for Pochettino at the moment, with the Argentine prepared to play a waiting game for this to decrease.
Barkley endured a testing relationship with Koeman throughout last season which culminated in him being left out of Everton’s match-day side for the 1-0 defeat to Swansea City.
In terms of outgoings at White Hart Lane this summer, reports coming from Germany have claimed that Borussia Monchengladbach are preparing to submit a formal £12million bid for forward Vincent Janssen.
Bild suggest that the Bundesliga side are set to begin their summer spending with a move for the underwhelming Tottenham man, who has struggled to make an impact since arriving last summer.
The 23-year-old only managed seven Premier League starts last season – scoring just twice – and it’s believed that Pochettino’s choice to play Son ahead of him as a striker has seen him seek a new club.
And it’s now thought that Gladbach are willing to take a chance on the Dutchman and give him an escape route out of North London, with a formal offer set to be submitted over the next few weeks.
