Andrea Belotti is finally expected to leave Torino this summer when he enters the final 12 months of his current deal with the Serie A club and Tottenham Hotspur are one of many European sides interested – but surely, Arsenal need him more?

Belotti, 27, is considered one of Europe’s best number nine strikers that is yet to join a club in European competition. He has scored a whopping 104 goals in 220 appearances for Torino, but it appears that he is set to leave in the coming months.

Italian newspaper state that numerous clubs around Europe are keen to sign the 32-time Italy international. Tottenham are one of those, with Spurs potentially requiring a striker to replace Carlos Vinicius – and maybe even Harry Kane.

But Kane remains likely to stay at Spurs, given Daniel Levy is expected to ask for an enormous figure – and only a handful of clubs being able to afford him. Vinicius might not stay, but Belotti is hardly going to consider joining Spurs as second choice.

Belotti will want to join a side where he starts. Step forward Arsenal, as the Telegraph claim Alexandre Lacazette could be sold this summer. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is struggling and is preferred on the left, while Gabriel Martinelli is still learning.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah is likely to leave the club regardless where Arsenal go in the transfer market given his lack of game time. So, Arsenal certainly need a starting striker if Lacazette leaves – which is a likelihood, as his contract is the same as Belotti.

Football Italia claim Belotti is rated at just £30million and for that price, Arsenal have got to elbow Tottenham aside and bring a striker to The Emirates that gives them strength and a focal point up top. The perfect signing for Mikel Arteta this summer.
