Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling Wolverhampton Wanderers for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey ahead of the summer window – and Spurs defender Ben Davies recently labelled the Welshman “world class” just last year.
Ramsey, 30, left Arsenal in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer to join Juventus – having clocked up a whopping 371 appearances for the North London club. He had a hand in 130 goals during his time at Arsenal, earning him a move to Juve.
He joined Juventus on an enormous contract but has since failed to live up to his Arsenal stats with the Old Lady – scoring just six goals in 55 appearances for Andrea Pirlo’s side. Now, TuttoJuve claim Juventus are keen to get rid of Ramsey.
They want him off the wage bill and that has put both Spurs and Wolves on red alert. It is believed Ramsey can be bought for a fee between £8.75million and £13.5million – and Davies recently raved about Wales teammate, labelling him as “world class”.
“Aaron is a world-class player,” Davies said, as quoted by BBC Sport in October 2020. “Having him in any team would boost you. He gets on the ball, he’s very creative and always looks forward and to get a team up the pitch.”

TBR’s view – Ramsey would be a stunning signing for Tottenham
But he would never join the club. Ramsey has a strong connection with Arsenal fans and spent 11 years with the North London club. There have been players to play for both clubs, William Gallas, Sol Campbell, Emmanuel Adebayor.
Ramsey, though, would not join Spurs. Indeed, you would imagine that if Ramsey was to return to the Premier League – surely the likeliest club that he would return to England to play for is the side he left 18 months ago. Time will tell.
