Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli for a cut-price figure this summer – and Scott Parker clearly rates his goalkeeper highly, despite dropping him this season.
Fulham are believed to be open to selling 28-year-old this summer for a fee in the region of £1million, as per an earlier report from the Daily Mail. It is believed Scottish champions Celtic are keen on Bettinelli.
Now, a more recent report from the Mail claim Tottenham are also keen on Bettinelli – who was called up by England in 2018. His career has gone somewhat downhill since, dropping out of Parker’s starting line-up at Fulham.
Discussing Marek Rodak replacing Bettinelli between the sticks as the club’s number one, Fulham boss and former Tottenham star Parker praised both – applauding the character of Bettinelli, despite dropping him.

“I’m fortunate enough to have both of them – [Marcus] Bettinelli and him [Rodak]. They’re both very good ‘keepers,” Parker told Fulham’s official site in November. “At this present moment in time Rodak’s got the shirt.
“[But] I know for sure, when I talk about character, that there’s someone behind him in Bettinelli who’s got plenty of that and will push, and push, and push. Like I said, I’m in a very fortunate position to have two such good ‘keepers.”
TBR’s view – Is Bettinelli good enough for Tottenham?
During the start of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, you would argue that Bettinelli was of the most in-form goalkeepers in England’s top tier. Worthy, then, of a call-up to England’s senior side.
But now, is he Tottenham standard? Spurs should only consider signing Bettinelli if it is as a replacement for Michel Vorm – with both Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga better than the uncapped Englishman.
