Tottenham are reportedly considering a £38million move to sign Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni – and Cesc Fabregas’ verdict will excite fans.

Tchouameni, 21, has burst onto the scene with some excellent displays for Monaco of late. His form has seen him break into the France squad.

Already, he has played 60 times for Monaco, producing nine goal involvements from holding midfield. He has a bit of everything.

A report from CalcioMercatoWeb says Tottenham are planning a double January swoop worth £88million – £38million on Tchouameni.

The other £50million is expected to be offered to Fiorentina for striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been confirmed as rejecting a new deal.

Speaking in a Q&A session on Twitter in June, Fabregas was asked about Tchouameni. He made a prediction, but hopes his Monaco side keep him.

Fabregas on Tchouameni: Another Paratici coup at Tottenham

Tchouameni is one of the most-talked about young guns on the European scene. He is already a France international, with huge talent in his position.

So, at £38million, he would be an utter bargain. Monaco would certainly be selling on the cheap but Fabio Paratici is has a reputation for bargain deals.

If Tottenham can get him at that price, or even slightly more, then they have to take a chance and pay up. Tchouameni has enormous potential.

That is, especially with the future of Harry Winks in doubt – and Nuno Espirito Santo looking to play with a double pivot, 4-2-3-1 system.
