Tottenham Hotspur are one of six Premier League clubs to have been reportedly offered the chance to sign Juventus star Paulo Dybala by the player’s agent – and Mauricio Pochettino’s previous comparison will have Spurs fans excited.

Pochettino came within an inch of having Dybala in his side, as Daniel Levy looked to tie up a deal for the 27-year-old Juventus ace in the summer of 2019. However, Spurs and Manchester United missed out – with image rights said to prove expensive.

However, now Spurs could finally get their man – with Mourinho benefitting instead of Pochettino. Dybala has struggled to get into the Juve side on a regular basis this season, starting only six of his 10 outings. Last season, he had a hand in 31 goals.

Football site 90Min claim Dybala has been offered to Spurs by the player’s agents, as well as both Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. Spurs have a chance to sign Dybala, and Pochettino’s previous comparison will excite supporters.

“Dybala is a great player. He’s Argentinean. The formation of Juventus is different when playing with Dybala or not. He’s that type of player, like Messi, Neymar and Cristiano [Ronaldo],” Pochettino said in the summer, as per Football London.

TBR’s view – Would Dybala signing push Bale down pecking order?

When Bale returned to Tottenham, Spurs fans rejoiced. Not only because Bale returned for the 2020-21 season, but the chances are that the Wales international will remain with the North London club beyond his loan.

Spurs have an option for a second year’s loan at Spurs – and his contract then ends at Real in 2022. It means he could have effectively joined Spurs permanently already. But the Welshman has made a slow start to life back at Spurs.

So, would the signing of Dybala push Bale down the pecking order? Probably, on current form. Would Dybala’s arrival see Spurs decide against extending Bale’s loan? Perhaps. Time will tell, if Spurs sign Dybala.
