Tottenham have made an offer for Fenerbahce’s teenage midfielder Elif Elmas, according to a report by Turkish paper Fotomac, as relayed by Sport Witness.
They report that Spurs are keen on a deal for the 10-cap North Macedonian international playmaker and are willing to pay 19 million euros (£16.9 million) as well as throwing Vincent Janssen into the bargain as well.
Janssen cost a reported £17 million (BBC) when he joined Spurs back in 2016, but he is worth a more negligible amount now.
In truth, getting him to Turkey would be a case of getting him off the wage bill and clearing out an unsettled player who has lost all semblance of form and fitness during his Spurs exile.

Elmas is a slightly left-field name in a summer where it’s seemed more likely that Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes would make the move to north London.
It’s easy to see why the deal for a teenage sensation for a fee under £20 million and getting rid of an unsettled player would appeal to Daniel Levy.
Unfortunately, it has come to the stage where Tottenham need to spend more money to get the players Mauricio Pochettino truly wants, as opposed to Levy penny-pinching and getting bargains for decent options.
If Pochettino wants Elmas, then great, this deal looks a decent financial one for Spurs. But Tottenham cannot afford to let Levy just hoover up potential prospects again, thinking from a financial perspective as opposed to a football one.
