Tottenham reportedly keen on promising Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon

Tottenham are interested in Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon this summer, according to a report by the Guardian.

They report that Spurs would love to follow the impending arrival of Jack Clarke from Leeds with a move for Sessegnon, and also remain keen on his twin brother Ryan, who is also at Craven Cottage.

Steven is a right back, indicating that Mauricio Pochettino is not content with Serge Aurier, Kieran Trippier, or perhaps more pertinently given Sessegnon’s age and nationality, Kyle Walker-Peters.

Getting Ryan through the door may help convince Steven to follow suit, after Fulham were relegated to the Championship.

It is Ryan who burst onto the scene earlier, showing impressive maturity and versatility, but Steven is apparently just as talented, but has had his injury problems.

Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best managers in the Premier League in terms of offering opportunities to young players, which may appeal to both brothers.

Fulham are still grappling with what they want to do following a relegation where they were devoid of any identity – which is a less than ideal environment for young, promising players like the Sessegnons to develop in.

Sessegnon could be a hidden gem, cheaper than his brother because of his later development, as Tottenham boost their future quality with the arrival of some talented teenagers this summer.
