Tottenham are ready to battle Valencia and AC Milan for the signing of Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.
They report that the San Siro club are reportedly struggling to strike the 50 million (£45.3 million) deal Atletico want for the forward as they also look to land Lille’s Rafael Leao.
And Valencia and Spurs are apparently loitering with interest to hijack the deal which has apparently been jeopardised by the collapse of Andre Silva’s move from Milan to Monaco.
But according to Sky Sports, Spurs had the chance to make Correa part of the deal that took Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid, but turned that opportunity down.

Perhaps Tottenham didn’t want to add complications to the deal for Trippier, which progressed rapidly, but it appears they’ve done something of a U-turn.
Trippier went for £25 million in the end and Spurs are now looking down the barrel of spending over £45 million on Correa, should they manage to sneak ahead of Milan and Valencia in the chase.
Mauricio Pochettino appears keen to bolster his attacking options, with an iron in the fire for Paulo Dybala as well, and it doesn’t quite make sense that Tottenham would be interested in Correa now but not two weeks ago.
It remains to be seen how this one plays out, but Spurs may have missed an opportunity to use the Trippier deal to get a player they hold an interest in.
