Tottenham reportedly have Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to the Daily Express, Spurs are monitoring the 23-year-old as they prepare a potential £120million injection of transfers into defensive targets.
The left-back is a player that has been linked with the North London club in the past and the summer may be an ideal time for him to join.
Chilwell is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League right now and has become an ever-present in the Leicester team after coming through their academe.
The speed machine offers a constant outlet on the left flank with his overlapping runs and tireless energy, which is such a boost to Brendan Rodgers’ side.
He is also a senior England international that appears to have nailed down a spot in the starting XI at present under Gareth Southgate and looks set to play in the summer’s European Championships.
But Chilwell is perhaps one of the weak links of the Leicester team when it comes to the defensive side of his game and it’s area he can certainly improve.
There is no doubt he’s a tremendous talent that has proven he can make a difference in the final third and is a key part of a team sat third in the league table.
Mourinho may be the perfect mentor though to bring on his defensive qualities, as at times he’s guilty of getting caught out of position and turn him into an elite player.
The Spurs boss has worked with some of the best defenders in the world during his career and it should be an attractive factor for Chilwell if Spurs do ramp up their interest in the summer.
