Tottenham really like Wolves defender Max Kilman – journalist

Ben Jacobs has told the Last Word on Spurs podcast that Max Kilman is one name for Tottenham Hotspur fans to keep an eye on heading into the summer, with the journalist suggesting that he would not be at all surprised if the defender wanted to leave Wolves at the end of the season.

Tottenham fans will be hoping to see Fabio Paratici continue to be busy while the window is open. Antonio Conte has taken the side forward. However, there is clearly plenty of work still to do. And they still need to strengthen in a few areas.

One of those is at the heart of the defence. Eric Dier has struggled for form this season. Meanwhile, Clement Lenglet is only on loan so there are no guarantees over his future.

Tottenham interested in Max Kilman

They have been heavily linked with some superb names. Reports from The Telegraph have suggested that they have previously shown interest in Josko Gvardiol. Meanwhile, they were also admirers of Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni.

But other names are on the radar, too. And Jacobs suggested that they are paying attention to Kilman’s situation at Molineux.

“The other name I would keep an eye on, again for the summer rather than for now, is Max Kilman at Wolves,” he told the Last Word on Spurs podcast.

“And I said this the last time I think we spoke too. Max Kilman has been firmly on Tottenham’s radar. But it’s about that period in the market when you can move. So there’s no point wasting time and energy if you know that there’s no ability to sell.

“But now, new manager and Wolves are still struggling, and Kilman will be thinking about his aspirations personally. And he’ll have been at the football club since we last mentioned it for another year. Come the summer, it wouldn’t remotely surprise me – even if he gets on playing under Julen Lopetegui – if Kilman suddenly decides that he would like to make a move.”

Kilman has been a mainstay of the Wolves side this season. And he has kept his place since Lopetegui came in as Bruno Lage’s replacement.

The 25-year-old is probably not the most exciting name. But he has a lot of potential. Conor Coady previously suggested that he is ‘outstanding‘.

Having said that, it will not capture the imagination if Spurs sign him from Wolves in the summer.
