Real Madrid want Tottenham star Christian Eriksen to sign a pre-contract agreement in January allowing them to sign the playmaker on a free in the summer, according to The Mirror.
The report also claims that boss Mauricio Pochettino is the club’s number one target to replace the under-pressure Zinedine Zidane. Madrid were reportedly alarmed by the Champions League defeat to PSG and could make a change.
Tottenham were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League Two outfit Colchester United on Tuesday. After a mediocre league start too, Pochettino has appeared disgruntled at times during the opening two months of the campaign.

Likewise Eriksen. The Dane didn’t move in the summer despite entering the final year of his contract and he has rejected a new contract worth £200,000-per-week.
The 27-year-old has been in North London for six years after arriving from Ajax. He has made 285 appearances, scoring 67 goals and registering 86 assists for the club.
TBR Verdict – Tottenham must try and sell Eriksen in January; losing him for free is unthinkable
Even if Tottenham lower their asking price to around £30 million that would surely be better than losing him for free next summer.
Eriksen has been a quality servant to the club and they should at least try and get some sort of fee for his services.

The £75,000-a-week (Spotrac) playmaker is replaceable and the most alarming thing about this story should perhaps be Madrid’s desire to pursue Pochettino.
Since arriving from Southampton, Spurs have gone on an upward curve. Reaching last season’s Champions League final was supposed to be the start of something special but that hasn’t transpired.
If the Argentinean was to leave the club then it could set Tottenham back years.
