Tottenham quoted £86m for winger who Ronaldinho called one of his favourite players

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add to their attack in the final stages of the transfer window, with a winger one of the priorities.

Thomas Frank’s side were beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth on the weekend, and it was evident that Spurs needed to sign at least one more player.

The North London club have been working hard in the transfer window over the last few days and enquiring about various options.

Spurs made a rather ambitious enquiry for one of the top wingers in Europe, but were told that he would cost around £86 million.

Tottenham told Rafael Leao would cost £86m

Tottenham Hotspur have been informed that Rafael Leao would cost at least £86 million, according to Miguel Delaney.

Spurs discussed the possibility of a move for the Portuguese winger, but AC Milan are asking for 100 million euros.

The 26-year-old is one of the most highly sought-after attackers in Europe and a deal looks to be too expensive for the North London club.

Earlier this month, TBR Football was informed that Leao was keen to stay at AC Milan after being offered Tottenham through intermediaries.

The Lilywhites wanted to sign a left winger this summer, but saw their efforts to sign Savinho blocked by Manchester City.

Instead, a new number nine quickly became the priority on deadline day, after it emerged that Dominic Solanke’s ankle injury was worse than originally feared.

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are close to signing Randal Kolo Muani instead, in what could prove to be an underrated pick-up from Spurs.

A deal for Leao certainly would have shown real ambition from the North London club, but that now looks highly unlikely given his valuation.

Ronaldinho hails Rafael Leao’s ability

AC Milan legend Ronaldinho admitted that he is a big fan of Leao’s ability and that he loves watching the Portuguese international.

Back in April, Ronaldinho told Sky Sport Italia via Milan News: “He doesn’t need advice, he’s a great player. He’s one of the players I most enjoy watching.”

The winger is becoming a legend himself at the San Siro, having netted 71 goals in 261 appearances for the Rossoneri.

He now looks set for another season playing for Milan, although he will not be involved in European action after they finished eighth last season.
