Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make their first permanent signing of the summer transfer window but are now preparing an opening offer.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side entered the summer on the back of an impressive 2023/24 campaign where they secured themselves Europa League football.

Playing in Europe is going to test Tottenham‘s squad depth which was something which came under scrutiny last season.

Daniel Levy has made a bright start to the window when it comes to outgoings with numerous players now off the books at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, when it comes to arrivals, all Tottenham have been able to muster up this summer is another loan deal with Timo Werner.

That could soon change with Spurs eyeing up one of the standout players from this summer’s Euros.

Tottenham preparing move for player who’s lit up Euro 2024

Another centre-back could well be on the agenda for Postecoglou this summer as Spurs look to beef up their backline.

The north London side have already done so by adding Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin to their squad alongside Cristian Romero.

However, further reinforcement may be required with an increased schedule to come next season and concerns over Van de Ven’s hamstrings.

According to Tuttosport, interest from London is growing for Bologna’s centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.

The two interested clubs credited in the report are Arsenal and Tottenham with both sides being told they will need €50m (£42m) to secure his services.

Spurs are said to have already made contact with Bologna this summer and are preparing their move for the centre-back.

Whilst Arsenal are only claimed to have only tested the waters with his agents.

What Fabio Capello said about Riccardo Calafiori

The 22-year-old centre-back has impressed massively for Italy during their Euro 2024 group stage games.

Calafiori has played every minutes of Italy’s tournament so far and has certainly caught the attention of any sides watching on.

“I didn’t think someone making his debut could show this much personality. No fear,” he told the media.

Considering how much attention the 22-year-old is receiving this summer, it may be a big ask for Postecoglou to convince him and battle it out with the current three centre-backs fighting for a spot in the XI.
