Tottenham predicted XI: 'Execellent' 28 y/o fails to recover from injury as 'fantastic' youngster takes his place

Tottenham Hotspur go into tomorrow’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur looking to continue their good form after they easily swept aside Wolves last weekend.

The Lilywhites won 2-0 as goals from Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hjobjerg saw Ryan Mason’s side strengthen their bid for European football.

On the flip side, Villa were on the end of a staggering defeat at the hands of Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side, who came back from 2-1 down to beat the Villains 3-2.

Going into this game, Spurs sit in sixth place and the final Europa League spot, which they’ll hope to snatch from under the noses of West Ham United.

How Lille Won The Ligue 1 Title Against All The Odds

In terms of team news, the ‘fantastic‘ Japhet Tanganga was the only change from the thumping up at Elland Road at the hands of Leeds United as he came in for the ‘excellent’ Serge Aurier after the right-back’s injury. Speaking about his injury after the win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, Mason claimed the defender had trained all week, but, the club would have to take it day-by-day in terms of featuring on Wednesday evening.

Given the consistency shown by the interim head coach, don’t expect too much change at the heart of the Spurs team.

Mason sounded far from optimistic over a quick return for the Ivory Coast international following last weekend’s clash meaning the fullback could well miss out once again this Wednesday night.

With that being said, expect a back-four of Tanganga, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, and Sergio Reguilon. And a midfield two of Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hjobjerg, who scored only his second-ever goal for the club in the Premier League.

Finally, the front four should consist of Gareth Bale, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son, and Harry Kane, who now sits joint-top with Mohamed Salah at the top of the top-flight’s goalscoring charts.

Spurs predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Tanganga, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Lo Celso, Hjobjerg; Bale, Alli, Son; Kane
