Tottenham predicted team: Ndombele dropped for in-form Lo Celso

Lo Celso should start and Ndombele should be dropped as Spurs face Newcastle this week.

It’s been a long time since Tottenham have played a club game owing to the international break.

That last game was a 2-1 home win over Aston Villa as Spurs recovered from three straight defeats.

In that clash, Nuno Espirito Santo changed from a 4-3-3 system to a 4-2-3-1.

We expect that to be the system again on Sunday, with just a couple of personnel changes.

The backline will remain mostly the same.

Sergio Reguilon, Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal should again in front of Hugo Lloris.

The only change we expect is for Davinson Sanchez to return for Eric Dier, who made a mistake for the Villa goal two weeks ago.

This is only possible as Tottenham are reportedly set to have their South Americans available for selection despite September’s red list drama.

The only other expected change comes in attacking midfield.

The pivot of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp works well.

But ahead of it, we want to see Giovani Lo Celso coming in in place of Tanguy Ndombele.

Ndombele is a devisive figure at Spurs.

However, even those who love the Frenchman will admit he hasn’t justified his £200k-a-week wages.

For Argentina, Lo Celso has shone in what is almost a free role in the attacking three behind the striker.

For Tottenham, he has the creativity to make that work, especially with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son alongside him.

Another win here would be huge for Tottenham as they look to bounce back further.

It would also be a fantastic opportunity to spoil the Newcastle party.

The Geordies will be jubilant on Sunday following their takeover.

However, if the right Spurs side rock up they could silence the ecstatic Magpies.

That’s what Nuno Espirito Santo will be keen to do and we believe this is the best lineup to achieve it.
