Tottenham predicted lineup vs Chelsea: new centre-back pairing; Gil and Ndombele to start

Tottenham face Chelsea in Premier League action tomorrow.

The Lilywhites face the tough ask of taking on Romelu Lukaku and co, despite being decimated by injuries.

Some players are expected to return for the clash, but many are set to sit this one out.

Both Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn limped off the pitch against Rennes on Thursday, landing further injury blows.

After that Europa Conference League clash, Nuno Espirito Santo cursed his side’s ‘terrible’ injury luck (BBC).

There’s no time for Spurs to feel sorry for themselves, though.

Against Chelsea we expect Hugo Lloris, Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon to keep their places in goal and at full-back.

In the centre of defence, though, there are changes.

However, we expect to see Christian Romero and Davinson Sanchez starting.

The pair are freshly back from a ten-day training camp in Croatia which they took part in to avoid isolating in a hotel in England.

They’ve had the best part of the last two weeks training together, so hopefully they’ll have an understanding.

In midfield, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will keep their places.

Alongside the pair, though, with Harry Winks dropping out, will be Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman’s performance vs Rennes was incredible and he should get another go tomorrow.

In attack is where it gets interesting.

Obviously Harry Kane will start.

Alongside him, though, we think it’ll be Dele Alli on one wing and Bryan Gil on the other.

Gil is the wildcard here.

The young Spaniard has pace and trickery in abundance.

If he can get going and isolate one of the Chelsea defence then it could be Spurs’ way of finding joy.

Equally, the pressure isn’t on Gil to get a result here.

He can have a real go at Chelsea without pressure of the fans demanding him to perform.
