Tottenham predicted lineup: Son rested; Winks and Gil to start
Gil and Winks are set to start vs NS Mura.
These are just two of the eight expected changes that we’ve predicted as Spurs face Europa Conference League action.
This game is crucial to Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Portuguese tactician will need to bounce back from defeat at Arsenal on Sunday, and Mura will provide a good opportunity for that.
However, the Lilywhites failed to win their opening game in this group away at Rennes so three points are important.
In goal, the cup ‘keeper Pierluigi Gollini will return to the side, but the four ahead of him is much changed.
We only have one of the back four from The Emirates keeping their place.
That man is Sergio Reguilon at left-back, who will have Matt Doherty on the opposite flank.
In between Doherty and Reguilon, though, we expect to see Joe Rodon make a long-awaited start alongside Cristian Romero.
Gil and Winks are set to start vs NS Mura
Romero’s absence vs Arsenal was one of the points of contention amongst fans, so he should return here.
In midfield, we have a whole host of changes as three new players are expected to step in.
In the more defensive of the three roles we have Oliver Skipp.
Either side of the combative youngster, 25-year-old Harry Winks to provide some calmness in possession and Giovani Lo Celso should start.
Alongside Reguilon as the only other players to retain their places from The Emirates, Lucas and Harry Kane should start in the front three.
Alongside them, though, with Heung-Min Son earning a deserved rest, we have Bryan Gil coming in.
The Spaniard looked sublime when he came on against Arsenal and was one of very few players providing forward drive.
He’s thoroughly earned this start and the fans would love to see him capitalise with a goal.
