Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen is two goals short of Gareth Bale’s Premier League tally

Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen is adored around the North London club for his talents, but is he in fact underrated in terms of his contribution in the Premier League?

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has been a key player for Spurs since he joined in 2013 and thrived under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

He’s got the intelligence to help run the show in midfield when he drops deeper, but can also contribute in front of goal further forward too.

Denmark internatonal Eriksen has now chalked up 41 Premier League goals in 180 games, while also returning 54 assists.

Eriksen is now in fact just two goals shy of the 43-goal return Gareth Bale netted in the English top flight for Spurs before his switch to Real Madrid,

Welsh attacker Bale is considered one of Spurs’ best players of the latest couple of decades and has gone on to achieve major success with Madrid in Spain.

He lit up English football with some dazzling performances before his departure and was a menace on the left flank.

Eriksen certainly deserves to be talked about in the same sentence as Bale with regards to an impact on Spurs and has also turned out to be a great addition to the Premier League with his technical ability.

Eriksen can go down as one of the best foreign exports of the last decade if his form continues under Pochettino and clinching silverware could help take him to the next level.
