Tottenham players react to teammate’s devastating performance vs Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur players have lauded Heung-Min Son for his hat-trick display against Aston Villa yesterday.

Alongside Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski, the South Korean ripped Steven Gerrard’s Villains apart at Villa Park.

The 29-year-old produced a finishing masterclass in the Midlands and his trio of strikes took his Premier League tally for the season up to 17 goals.

Spurs’ number seven is now only three goals behind the league’s top goalscorer Mohamed Salah with seven league games remaining.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man now has six goals from his last three matches and his a real purple patch of form seemingly ay the perfect time for Antonio Conte’s Spurs.

Speaking about Tottenham’s front three, Gerrard said via Football London: “They’ve got two world class players up top and the young lad from Juventus who could certainly be a top player.”

Conte also praised the growing understanding that his formidable forward trio are building with one and other.

The former Inter Milan manager said: “For sure we are scoring a lot of goals because there is a great link, a great connection between these three players in attack.”

After matching his best goalscoring tally in a Premier League campaign which came last year, Son looks set to break new ground this season.

Son now has 87 goals in the English top-flight and his hat-trick against Villa saw him surpass the likes of Carlos Tevez (84), Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres (both 85).

His second goal of the game yesterday which was inevitably assisted by Kane meant that the duo are the first pair in Premier League history to have 40 goal combinations.

Following last night’s triumph, Son posted on Instagram and his post was met with a lot of love from the Spurs family.
