Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Sky Sports, as quoted by Football London that Lucas Moura is becoming a ‘problem’ for Mauricio Pochettino.

The ex-England custodian thinks that the form of the Brazilian is making life difficult for the boss as he is becoming indispensable to the team.

Moura stepped off the bench to score the equalising goal against Manchester City on Saturday; whilst he adhered himself to Tottenham fans with a hat-trick in last season’s Champions League semi-final against Ajax.

The 27-year-old signed for Tottenham in 2018. He arrived from PSG for a fee of £23 million, according to BBC Sport.

Robinson believes the forward will be causing Pochettino all sorts of problems.

He told Sky Sports, as quoted by Football London: “It would appear it’s becoming more and more apparent that he must fit him in.

“He gives Spurs another dynamic, his pace and directness gives them another element, he immediately puts defenders on the back foot because they know he’s got pace.

“Moura is proving a problem for Pochettino because he’s almost becoming a player that has to be picked.”

TBR Verdict – Robinson is right…Moura has given Pochettino a real problem

When the forward arrived at Tottenham in January 2018 it was unsure whether he would adapt to life in English football.

Over the last six month’s, however, he has proved to be one of Pochettino’s most important players.

He was desperately unlucky to miss out on the Champions League final in June. After shining in Harry Kane’s absence, he was cruelly dropped for the Liverpool showdown.

Moura hasn’t dwelled on that, however, and showed on Saturday against Saturday that he is up for the fight to win a shirt.

The £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) performer took his goal well at the weekend. Right now Pochettino will surely find it impossible to overlook him for a place in the starting eleven.
