Joe Hart and Sergio Reguilon react on Instagram as Fulham confirm signing
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga has joined Fulham on a free transfer. Marco Silva has strengthened his goalkeeping ranks with the signing and afterwards, a Spurs duo congratulated him on Instagram.
The Argentinean stopper left Tottenham at the end of last season. He has now agreed on a two-year contract with the Craven Cottage-based club who will play in the Championship next season.
Gazzaniga never really got a proper chance to impress at Tottenham. He managed 37 appearances but largely played second fiddle to Hugo Lloris.
Now, he’s remaining in London but will be trying to help the Cottagers win promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. Following his move, he took to Instagram to speak of his delight.
What have the Tottenham duo said about Fulham signing Gazzaniga?
Both Sergio Reguilon and Joe Hart have spent time training alongside the goalkeeper during his time at Tottenham.
Quite clearly he was a popular member in the dressing room and he leaves the club with some supporters wishing he’d have been given more of a chance.
Gazzaniga has received some nice words following his move, with Hart and Reguilon providing the highest-profile praise.
At 29, the player isn’t at a bad age for a goalkeeper. He should become the club’s number one stopper pretty quickly and he’ll want to prove himself.
Fulham have lofty ambitions this season and after signing Gazzaniga and Harry Wilson from Liverpool, they will be among the favourites for promotion.
After swapping the white of Tottenham for the white of Fulham, Reguilon and Hart had some words of encouragement for the custodian.
