Tottenham Hotspur are ramping up their preparations for the summer window and could well be in the mix to sign a top striker.

The club haven’t moved to replace Harry Kane since he departed in the summer and there is believed to be plans to spend big this summer and back Ange Postecoglou.

Despite a recent upturn in form from Richarlison, there is a belief around the club that a new striker is needed to improve the squad.

One of the forwards who has been linked with a move to Tottenham is Bologna star, Joshua Zirkzee.

And according to reports from Italy, Spurs are indeed considered one of the most active teams in the race to sign Zirkzee.

According to Milan Live, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United are considered the English clubs most active when it comes to pursuing Zirkzee.

The young Dutchman has a host of admirers, including other clubs in Italy such as AC Milan and Juventus.

Bologna are believed to value Zirkzee around the £50m mark and there is set to be a clamour in the summer market to land the forward.

The forward has been compared to Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp in the past as well, highlighting his ability and potential.

“Technically he is very good and has shown that he sees the goal. In Zirkzee I seem to see the Dutch Dennis Bergkamp: someone who made your eyes shine with his technique,” former Italy man Francesco Graziani has said.

Tottenham, then, could land themselves quite the player here if those comparisons ring true.

Ange Postecoglou was backed in January to sign players like Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, while Lucas Bergvall will also arrive in the summer months.

Daniel Levy is keen to show his manager he supports him and Tottenham could be in for a busy summer of spending.
