Tottenham should offer Georges-Kevin Nkoudou in exchange for Morgan Sanson

It appears that Tottenham Hotspur are in the hunt for Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson. According to a report in France Football, Spurs are keen to sign Sanson and have been scouting the player for a number of months.

The 23-year-old has had an excellent season for Marseille. He joined the club in January 2017 and has since gone on to become a regular for the southern side. He was a regular for the club throughout the season, as they made it to the Europa League final.

However, they only finished fourth in Ligue 1, which means they will not be playing in the Champions League next season.

Tottenham, therefore, have a great chance to bring Sanson in. With fears over the future of Mousa Dembele, with the Belgian’s contract issues seeing him linked with a move away.

Sanson will, however, be a costly addition, considering he has only been at the Stade Velodrome for 18 months.

So Tottenham could certainly use a bartering tool. One potential option is Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.

Spurs paid Marseille a fee of £10.9 million for the 23-year-old, but he has struggled to find success in North London. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, where he again could not find regular first-team football.

It is still well known that N’Koudou is a massive fan of his former club and would likely jump at the chance to return to the club.

The offer of N’Koudou on the table might take the edge off any transfer fee for Sanson and help Tottenham put something together for the 23-year-old.

Marseille would, meanwhile, like to bring the player back to the club. They would certainly be able to offer him more hope of regular football then is currently available to him at Spurs.

If Tottenham want Sanson, then throwing Nkoudou into the mix can surely help their cause.
