Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided they’d rather sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke over Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.

That’s according to The Sun, which claims that Spurs view Dominic Solanke as a ‘better prospect’.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for a new striker ever since Harry Kane’s departure over the summer.

Ange Postecoglou opted to bring in a more versatile forward, with Brennan Johnson joining from Nottingham Forest on deadline day.

Signing a new striker reportedly remains a priority for Tottenham though, with Brighton’s Evan Ferguson a target.

Indeed, talkSPORT has even claimed that Spurs view Ferguson as the ideal long-term replacement for Kane

But Tottenham have since been linked with a move for Solanke and a fresh report claims they favour the Bournemouth forward over Ferguson.

Tottenham would rather sign Solanke over Ferguson

The Sun reports that Tottenham are looking at the possibility of moving for Solanke in January.

Indeed, the outlet claims that while Spurs are keen on Ferguson, they have cooled their interest in the Brighton striker.

That’s down to the club viewing Solanke as a ‘better prospect’, with one source stating that Tottenham believe the Cherries star has the ability to play at a ‘higher level’.

Ferguson has emerged as one of the Premier League’s brightest prospects after impressing for Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi.

The 19-year-old has netted six goals in 16 Premier League games this term, with the Seagulls reportedly valuing him at over £100 million

As for Solanke, he’s also been in fine goalscoring form for Bournemouth this season.

The Englishman has netted 11 times in 17 league games while providing one assist along the way. His current boss, Andoni Iraola, has described him as a ‘very complete’ striker.

The 26-year-old has surprised many with his goalscoring form this term after only scoring six times in the Premier League last time out.

You can certainly understand why Spurs may favour a move for Solanke over Ferguson given the fact that Brighton are likely to demand a huge fee.
