Tottenham are ramping up their efforts ahead of the January transfer window and could now make a move for Samuel Iling-Junior.
Spurs are expected to be busy in January as Ange Postecoglou looks to add depth and quality to his ranks.
A number of injuries have left Tottenham short and despite their fine form overall, there is a feeling they could fall short if they don’t strengthen.
A new defender is thought to be the priority, with Piero Hincapie among those linked. However, TV Play are now reporting that Juventus star Samuel Illing-Junior might also be high on Ange’s wishlist.
Tottenham to make official bid for Samuel Illing-Junior
According to the report, Tottenham really like the idea of signing Illing-Junior and are now considering making what’s termed as an ‘official’ bid for the winger.
It’s claimed Juventus would look to get around £17m in the bank if they were to sell the 20-year-old Englishman.

Tottenham have done good business from Italy and Juventus in the past when Fabio Paratici was at the club.
Of course, two current Spurs stars, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, both came from the Turin club.
Illing-Junior has yet to start a game for Juventus in the league this season and has only had sporadic minutes off the bench.
Illing-Junior one for the future for Spurs
There’s no harm in Spurs going out and paying for a player like Illing-Junior. Clearly, he is a talented player and has been lauded as an ‘excellent‘ talent over in Italy.
The bigger question for Tottenham right now is does the winger bring enough to the table immediately to help them challenge?
With Man City faltering and the league seemingly wide open at the top, this might be Tottenham’s best chance of actually getting involved in the title race.
The club, then, will need to decide if spending on Illing-Junior or someone else for the immediate future is the more worthwhile decision.
