Tottenham Hotspur are in a precarious position in the Champions League at the moment.
Spurs sit third in Group B on four points, with Wednesday’s opponents Internazionale in second on seven points, and Barcelona top of the pile on 10.
It’s very possible the Catalan giants will pick up three points against PSV Eindhoven, which would give them 13 points meaning realistically, there’s only one spot left to qualify for the knockout stages.
Tottenham absolutely must beat Inter at Wembley on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will need big performances from all of his players, but he’ll be hoping that Dele Alli in particular can stand up and be counted for once again.
Alli Spurs’ ultimate big-game player?
Former MK Dons prospect Alli has proven himself to be quite the influencer in the big matches since joining Spurs in 2015.
The 22-year-old tormented Chelsea at the weekend in what was a massive game, scoring himself and assisting for Heung-min Son.
His contributions meant he now has six goals and two assists against the Blues.
But it’s not just against Chelsea that Alli is effective.
10 of Alli’s 39 Premier League goals, have come against Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal.
On Wednesday, Tottenham need him firing on all cylinders against Inter if they are to have any real hope of progressing after the final match against Barcelona.
