Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on QPR midfielder Eberechi Eze. As detailed by Football.London this week, the playmaker is on Tottenham’s shortlist and the Premier League side are keeping tabs on the player.
It would be a shrewd piece of business for Spurs. Eze, who The Sun report is valued at around £12 million, has been in fine form in the Championship this season. His 11 goals and seven assists from 35 games perhaps don’t do his talents enough service.
So Tottenham should definitely be keen and must avoid repeating the same mistakes they did in 2018 with another talented Championship midfielder.
On that occasion, it was Jack Grealish.

As reported by Sky Sports, Tottenham failed with a £25 million bid for the midfielder that summer. The player was expected to be sold due to Aston Villa’s financial problems. However, Tottenham stalled for too long and by the time a bid arrived, those issues had been sorted.
Grealish signed a new deal at Villa Park and went on to inspire his beloved side to Championship promotion.
Tottenham will now regret failing to get a deal done. Grealish is thriving, despite Aston Villa’s struggles, in the Premier League and is looking to force his way into England’s Euro 2020 team.
Eze undoubtedly has similar talents and abilities as Grealish, which at just 21-years-old, could easily be nurtured at the highest level.
But Tottenham must not lowball QPR into selling him elsewhere or indeed convincing him to give promotion another crack next season.
Otherwise, they might have to watch a top talent become an international in the making from afar again, just as they have with Grealish.
