Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks has become a crucial player this player in the side and it’s extremely sweet that he’s a product of the club’s academy.
The 23-year-old England international is an ever-present now in Mauricio Pochettino’s side and has formed a combination alongside Moussa Sissoko.
Winks is a pass master that helps dictate player for Spurs and has great confidence on the ball in all areas of the park.
He’s helping the North London club forget about the exit of Mousa Dembele and is making the midfield position his own.
The central midfielder has admitted that he would like to improve the area of his game when it comes to goals and assists.
Winks has made 35 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring just one goal and supplying one assist.
“There’s always parts of my game I want to add to: for example, goals and assists are something I need to work on and improve on. That said, I know that my role in the team is more than just goals and assists,” Winks told iNews.
Winks is not in the team to chip in with plenty of goals and assists, but it’s something that he does need to try do more.
He’s got a great technique on the ball and if he can become someone that chips in with 5-10 goals a season he will be a Rolls-Royce midfielder.
The Englishman has already got the passing range, work-rate and defensive side of his game that has earned him the trust of Pochettino.
But he can take his game to another level and become an exceptional central midfielder if he just adds slightly more, something he’s got time on his side to do.
