Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Anthony Georgiou has told TWTD that he is yet to make a decision on his future amid a very strong start to life at League One side Ipswich Town.
Georgiou, 22, has made four appearances for Ipswich since joining the club on loan. He has been used as a left winger, despite playing on the left side of defence during pre-season against some of Europe’s biggest teams.
His form has even see him return to the Cyrpus national team, where he played twice during the most recent international break – notching two assists in a 4-0 win over San Marino. His potential is finally being realised.
Georgiou has signed a new deal until the summer of 2021 at Tottenham, before completing a move to Ipswich. He is on loan at Portman Road until January, and it remains to be seen what decision he will take from that moment on.
“I’m on loan until January and it’s all going well so we’ll see what happens from there,” Georgiou said.
TBR’s view – Georgiou can play higher than League One
Based on his performances during pre-season, Georgiou is at least a Championship player and still being very young, he can surely push his way into the Premier League at some point.
But a solid six months at Ipswich is the best way to prove to Spurs or potential buyers that he is capable of shining at League One level, and being of potential to divisions higher than the third tier.
