Spurs have enjoyed a fruitful summer in the transfer market, bringing in six new signings.
Tottenham hit the ground running in the summer window with Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.
Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence have since followed at Spurs.
Tottenham may yet make more signings, with speculation linking the north Londoners with Nicolo Zaniolo.
But even if Spurs don’t get anyone else over the line, they can be proud with how their squad looks now.
On Friday, Tottenham’s media team released a video from the team’s latest training session.
And Spurs may have just dropped a hint regarding the starting XI that could take to the pitch against Saints.
As noted by football.london, the Tottenham players split into two separate groups to take part in a passing drill.
The Spurs players wearing orange bibs were near enough Conte’s Spurs XI from the end of last season.
Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Clement Lenglet, Emerson, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon, Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were in orange bibs.
Summer signing Lenglet is obviously the only exception from the run-in. And it can be safely assumed that Hugo Lloris would complete the XI.
Matt Doherty, Djed Spence, Davinson Sanchez, Ben Davies, Japhet Tanganga, Ivan Perisic, Harvey White, Pape Matar Sarr, Bryan Gil, Richarlison and Lucas Moura weren’t in bibs.
We’ll see on Saturday whether the orange-bib group will form most or all of the starting XI against Southampton.
Nonetheless, it certainly looked as though there may have been an order to the group selections.
